Statement of Faith
THE BIBLE - The Bible is the Very WORD of GOD. It is comprised of 66 books including the Old and New Testaments. The original writings were given by Inspiration of God and are inerrant and infallible. We believe that the Authorized King James Version of the bible to be the preserved Word of God in the English language. (Jer. 36:2; II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)
ONE TRUE GOD - We believe that there is only ONE, Living, Triune God--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is Eternal, All Seeing, All Powerful, and All Knowing. (Gen 1:26; Isa. 45:5-6; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14)
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST - We believe that Jesus is the second Person of the trinity. The Eternal Son of God became man without ceasing to be God, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. His death and resurrection was the perfect payment for the sins of man. He ascended into Heaven and is now sitting at the right hand of God, where He is our High Priest, Intercessor and Advocate. (Isa. 7:14; Luke 1:35; Gen. 3:15; John 1:1-4)
THE HOLY SPIRIT - We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the trinity. He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He is the Supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing the body of believers into the body of Christ and indwelling them and sealing them unto the day of Redemption. (John 16:7-11; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 12:12-14; II Cor. 3:6; Eph. 1:13-14)
SATAN - One who was once God's angel, is the personification of evil, the author of sin, father of lies, and the cause of the fall of man. He comes as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He is the open and declared enemy of God and man and he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. (Job 1:6-7; Isa. 14:12-17; Matt. 4:2-11, 25:41; Rev. 20:10; I Peter 5:8-9)
HELL - The abode of the dead; a place of torment for unbelievers until they are cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity. (Matt. 8:12-13, 41-42, 49-50, 22:13, 25 30; Luke 16:22-23; Rev. 20:10, 13-14; Mark 9:43-44)
THE DEPRAVITY OF MAN - Man was created in the likeness and image of God but when Adam sinned, the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. In that, man is totally depraved and of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:22-23, 5;12, 6:23; Eph. 2:1-3, 4:17-19)
SALVATION - It is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith wholly trusting the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ whose precious Blood was shed on Calvary for the Forgiveness of our sins, and whose Resurrection brought Victory over sin and death. All the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 1:12, 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Rom. 8:38-39; Eph. 1:7, 2:8-10; I Peter 1:4-5, 18-19; Isa. 51:6)
HEAVEN - God's dwelling place. It is the part of God's creation above the earth and waters, air and space, and serving as home for God and his Heavenly creatures--the final dwelling place of His saints. (John 13:1-4; Psalm 23:6; Rev. 21:1-2; Luke 10:20, 16:20; II Cor. 5:1; Heb. 11:10)
THE CHURCH - The Local Church is God's organization made up of born-again believers. It is used to edify the saints and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly defined in the New Testament. We believe in the autonomy of the local church being free from any external authority or control. We also believe that Water Baptism by Immersion and the Lord's Supper are the two scriptural ordinances of obedience for the Church in this age. (Heb. 10:25; I Cor. 11 23-26, 12:12-14; II Cor. 11:2; Acts 2:41-42, 13:1-4, 14:27, 18:8, 20:17, 20:28; Matt. 28:19-20; I Peter 5:1-4)
CREATION - God created the universe in six, literal 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age, and Theistic Evolution, as unscriptural theories of origin. (Gen. 1,2; Ex. 20:11)
SEPARATION - All who are saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord - and that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations, is commanded of God. (Rom. 12:1-2, 14:13; II Cor. 6:14-17; II Thess. 3:6; II Timothy 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; II John 9-11)
THE SECOND ADVENT OF CHRIST - The Blessed Hope, the Personal Imminent return of Christ, who will rapture His Church prior to the seven year Tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will Personally and visibly return with His Saints to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the Nation of Israel. (Titus 2:13; Rev. 1:7, 19:11-16, 20:1-6; I Thess. 4:14)
